Yes, registration staff can collect payment and issue a receipt.

Can I be seen in the Emergency Room if I have no insurance?
Yes, there are many payment options available to uninsured patients, including a Medical Assistance Program sponsored by PVH.

Do I need an appointment for X-Rays?
Some radiology procedures require an appointment, while others can be done immediately.
4.
Do I need to register if I am having Lab work done?
Yes, all patients must check in at the volunteer desk or the cashier window before proceeding to their appointment.

I did not receive the service I am being charged for on my bill, what should I do?
Contact the Business Office, we will conduct a chart audit to confirm that the service(s) were provided, and make necessary corrections to your bill if necessary.

I received a collection letter, why?
Insurance is billed as a courtesy, contact your insurance company for a claim status.

What positions are available?
HR post all open position every Friday in the Hospital. Positions are also available online.
2.
Where can I get an application?
Applications are available in the HR department from Mon-Fri 8 am-5 pm. Also available online.
3.
How do I check the status of my application?
All applications are logged and sent to the Manager of the open position. You can call HR at (760) 922-7033 or email us at www.hr@mypvh.org

Laboratory Services

Do I need and appointment to have my lab tests performed?
No appointment is needed for out patient testing.
2.
Do I need to be fasting?
Most physicians will tell you if they want you to fast. If you are not sure, contact the laboratory.
3.
I have an out of town physician. Can I still have my lab tests done at the Palo Verde Hospital?
Yes, you can as long as you have an order signed by your physician or health care practitioner.
4.
Can I take my medication before my lab tests?
In most cases, unless your doctor tells you to hold your medication, you should take them as prescribed. The exceptions to this is if you are on lanoxin (heart medication) and the doctor wants a digoxin level run. Blood for a digoxin level must be drawn at least 6 hours after the last dose.

Do you have boxes available for the general public to pick up?
Yes, you may check wilth us after 3:30 p.m. If we have boxes available, you are welcome to pick them up.
2.
When can employees pick up boxes for personal use?
Boxes can be picked up for personal use by employees any day Monday through Friday after 3:30 p.m.

Medical Records

1.
What do I need to do to get my records?
Come by the office and fill out a release for medical records, be sure to bring a photo I.D.

How long does it take to get my records once I sign the release form?
5 to 7 working days, depending on the number of requests preceding
yours.

Can I send somedone eles to pick my records up for me?
Not unless you indicate on the release form their name and we have
their photo ID as well as yours.
4.
Is there a charge for getting my records?
It would depend on why you need the records. (Explanation: No charge for continuation of care, otherwise, there is a $15.00 charge to pull the chart and $.15 per page for every page we copy.)
5.
Can you fax my records to me, my doctor, my lawyer, etc.?
Hospital policy does not allow us to fax any records to anyone unless a doctors office request a report because the patient is waiting in the office; secondly, we must have a signature to release any record.
6.
Can I get my mother, father, brother, sister, etc. record?
We cannot release any records to anyone without the patient’s signature. If the patient is in Hospice, etc. we need a copy of power of attorney and a photo ID of the person retrieving the records.
7.
How long does it take to get a birth certificate?
In a minimum of four weeks patient can go to the county assessor’s office, request the certificate, the charge is $18.00. If for whatever reason the certificate is not in yet there will be another $18.00 charge every time they search for it until it comes in. Birth certificates are available on Mondays and Wednesdays only.
8.
When do I get the baby's social security card?
Social Security card will arrive by mail in 6-12 weeks.
9.
What if I need the social security card before I receive it by mail, for insurance purposes, etc.?
You can use the babies and/or mothers hospital arm bands and hospital crib card for proof of birth. These items are accepted 98% of the time.

Can I have my prescriptions filled at the Hospital?
The pharmacy only fills prescriptions for inpatients, the public and outpatients must have their prescriptions filled by their local pharmicist.
